Is Alexithymia something that can develop?
23.08.2018 by White-Pheonix

I had many freinds and family members die, and I was sad when I heard they died. However as each one died, one by one I started to feel nothing. Eventually I started to regain feeling but I couldn't destiguish any of them. I think I can't even feel sadness anymore, as well as love. However I am not depressed. I just want to know if this is something that can develop or is it something that can be surfaced threw conflicting emotions?

What you are describing sounds more like you're simply becoming accustomed to the idea of death and because of this it is losing it's impact on you. There's an old adage "Familiarity breeds contempt." In your case not contempt but acceptance.

White-Pheonix, it sounds more like you are becoming numb to you emotions not not being able to describe how you feel? Are you unable to express your other emotions besides sadness. I hate to break it to you but if you have a flat affect your almost certainly depressed(or schizo).
