Substance abuse/dependency

when i first starting experimenting with drugs i found i quite liked md. i was shy, and not used to talking about my feelings - two things the drug remedies quite well. i rarely take it now because it's pretty exhausting and i've realised how empty the feelings are when you sober up.

just wondering what other people's experiences were with things, and if they've done similar things in an effort to try and 'feel' or 'improve' themselves in some way.

why empty?

feelings are only empty if they have no meaning. Did they have no meaning when you spoke them, or just when you sobered up?

Good question indeed

I would say they have meaning if you actually mean the reasoning behind them.

Forgot to add this

Also, if you have the reasoning for the feeling but you lack the ability to feel the feeling as well that's where I'd imagine these drugs would be cool? I don't really want to take drugs for this tho'

What do you mean by feelings?

slushhhhy, you don't state specifically what the drugs did, but whatever it was seemed preferable to your normal state of being. People take prescription drugs "to feel better", but with the understanding that they have to keep taking them to feel better; i.e. they don't take the drugs to be cured. Illegal drugs should be viewed in the same light; you are taking them for a central effect, but that has to be weighed against side effects (and you'll still have Alexithymia).
